Membership

Membership in the League of Women Voters, one of the most respected and effective grassroots organizations in the country, is open to all people aged 16 or older.

We are a 100% member-driven, volunteer-run organization. Our members decide the direction of our local League and which issues we address. Joining the League is an excellent way to make friends and get involved in your community!

Your dues support the technology platforms we use for outreach, our public programs and printed materials, voter registration events, the state and national Leagues, and more.

Changes to the LWV Member Portal

In February 2025, all League of Women Voters chapters nationwide transitioned to a new member portal called ChapterSpot. This update provides a more streamlined experience for managing your membership and accessing League resources.

What You Need to Know

✅ Your membership will now renew annually in May - This ensures consistency and eliminates confusion on renewal timelines.

✅ Dues will follow a 'pay-what-you-can' model - The recommended amount is $75, but members can pay any amount over $20 to ensure inclusivity.

✅ Online renewals encouraged - Members can still pay by check if needed, but online renewals are preferred for

Member Portal

After joining, LWV members can access the Member Portal to:

  • Update your information (e.g. change your phone number, address, etc.)

  • View your past payments

State and National Membership

When you join the local chapter of the League, you automatically become a member at the state and national levels as well. If you are not a resident of Washington County and you don’t have a chapter in your own county, you are welcome to join our chapter, or you can join the League of Women Voters of Arkansas.
