Volunteer
LWVWC is a 100% volunteer-run organization. Here are some of the other areas we could use your help. If you find something that interests you, please fill out the sign-up form at the bottom of the page. We’d love to have you!
Voter Registration
This is the bread and butter of the League. Voter registration is a great way to fit some volunteer time in if you have a busy schedule - you can sign up for as few or as many shifts as you like. We are currently registering voters at events throughout Northwest Arkansas. Click here to sign up for a volunteer shift.
If you don’t have time to volunteer in person, you can help tremendously by calling places around town to find new sites for us to set up registration drives.
Observer Corps
The Observer Corps is an excellent way to learn about how government works. Observers attend governmental meetings, note what happens at them, and report back to the League and community in the form of a short blog post. Observing is extremely important because it reminds governmental officials that people are watching what decisions are being made and how those decisions are being made.
We are especially looking for people interested in observing at the city and county level. If you’d like more information about observing, the national League has put together an excellent resource guide.
Education
One of our top goals is putting together short classes and educational videos about how government works in Arkansas. If you are knowledgeable about an area of government or an issue that we work on (like redistricting or expanding voter access), or if you have experience teaching, we could use your help!
Communications
Are you creative? Interested in writing, photography, or videography? Maybe you’re a social media or graphic design fiend. Getting involved in communications might be for you.
Member Recruitment & Engagement
Growing our membership and engaging our current members is important to us. If you’re a social butterfly or the one always planning your friend group’s activities, this would be a great opportunity for you.
Event Management
One of the primary ways we engage with the community is by hosting forums, education sessions, and trainings. We need organized people to help manage these virtual and in-person events.
If you have another idea for how you’d like to volunteer, please let us know. We welcome new ideas!
